## What they believe
Broadway Pentecostal Church belongs to the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and points enquirers to the PAOC's Statement of Essential Truths. It believes the Bible is God's Word, the final authority on life and relevant for everyone; that God is eternal and exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and that Christ, who is God, atoned by his death and resurrection for the sins of all who call on him and will return to rapture his Church. Its statement also affirms holy living, water baptism, the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit, divine healing, the casting out of demons, a literal heaven and hell, and the tithe as the Lord's, to be used to build the church.

## What to expect
The church describes its Sunday service as contemporary worship led by a band, a worship leader and vocalists, at times blending old and new songs, followed by Bible teaching that it describes as relevant in today's world; there may also be special music, drama or media presentations. Some people worship by clapping, raising their hands or kneeling. The doors open well before ten, so visitors can look around, find a seat or register their children, and dress ranges from jeans and T-shirts to suits. During the service KidzCity teaches children in grades 1 to 5, Downtown is the room for ages 3 to 5, and the Uptown Nursery takes babies to two-year-olds, with an infant care room beside it.

## About this congregation
Broadway Pentecostal Church stands at 556 Broadway, west of downtown Orangeville, in a building that members of the congregation helped to build and that was dedicated on 5 May 1974. It belongs to the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, which lists it in its Western Ontario District. The lead pastor is Shane Stewart, and Jana Mindle is the family ministry pastor.

The church traces its beginnings to Pentecostal meetings held from 1924 in the home of the Rev. S. D. Dinnick and his wife, retired Methodist ministers, which drew in believers from earlier holiness groups in East Luther and Garafraxa, and to tent meetings at the corner of Church and Mill Streets in 1927 and 1928. In 1930 the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada sent the Rev. H. Harris to organize the congregation, and an old blacksmith shop at Church and Mill Streets was renovated as Elim Tabernacle, dedicated on 7 May 1930. The congregation moved to the Full Gospel Temple on the north side of Broadway, across from John Street, in February 1941, and in May 1962 dedicated Broadway Pentecostal Tabernacle on the opposite side of the street, before building the present church. It took its current name when it incorporated in 2011, and it helped to establish sister churches in Dundalk, Bolton and Waldemar.

Worship is at ten on Sunday morning, in person and streamed online. During the week a prayer group meets on Wednesday mornings and the youth group on Thursday evenings. Through its Love Orangeville ministry the church collects food each month for the Orangeville Food Bank and hosts a corn roast at the farmers' market, and it supports missionaries of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada in Guatemala and Colombia and an urban missionary in Toronto.
